About My Blog
Up Close and Personal
For years, I have served as a useful source of motivation, help or advice. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started Shukrita Sankaran - My Writerly Life with a mission to give others a taste of my thoughts and experiences, and I have been at it ever since. What started as weekly posts has evolved into a rich site filled with information about various topics that are near and dear to my heart.
Take some time to explore the blog and find what sparks your interest. Feel free to reach out if you would like to collaborate on a project together. Read on and enjoy!
About Me.
Hi! This is Shukrita Sankaran. I am an avid reader and listener, with a degree in psychology and a passion for literature and poetry. I believe in the power of the written word and the potential it has for growth and change and transformation.
I also have a AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diploma from Sir Ratan Tata Institute in Mumbai. I worked at the prestigious West Wind School in South Mumbai for four years after which I married and moved away to the suburbs of Mumbai.
Here, with my husband, noted homoeopath Dr. Rajan Sankaran, I help with conducting WISE (Witnessing the Inner Song Experience) and Therapeutic Storytelling sessions at the clinic and online. I have started writing Therapeutic Stories for children, for behavioural change, fostering a growth mindset and building resilience through storytelling, mindfulness and compassion.
My first book of poetry - POETIC RESONANCE - has been well received and I hope to write more stories and poems in the future. I have a podcast on Spotify and other podcast platforms called 'The Storyteller Mumbai'.
I am a part of the Indian Storytelling Network.
I offer to craft a story specific to your requirement , be it a challenging behaviour of your child, or a story to build resilience, the transformative power of therapeutic storytelling and using story medicine as a way to reach the inner subconscious is very powerful. Do check out 'Sia and the Stone' and 'Fatty Fish Fountain' on my blog on this website.
